"For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another." Romans 12:4
Group Discussion:
What are some problems with winning souls for Christ as a young adult Christan that you face?
- busy; people not wanting to change, happy with their life
Many times, people don't stop to consider their souls until something comes along and forces them to. Often it takes a tragedy or a serious illness - sometimes disappointing outcomes in life will cause someone to realize their need for a change.
(Luke 15:11 - The Story of the Prodigal Son)
"When he came to himself." Coming to yourself is the crucial point in life where God can start to speak to you, to deal with you. You can either listen, or you can turn Him away possibly forever. It is critical that you find the place where you can hear God's voice and let Him lead you. In the story of the prodigal son, the Father didn't have a long list of grievances he wanted to discuss before he allowed his son to enter home. He immediately took him in His arms and forgave all. When you begin to consider your soul, realize that God is waiting for you with outstretched arms.
- being so different that others can't relate
A Christian IS different. The Bible states that we are "in the world, but not of it". Sometimes when we try to share the gospel with people, this difference will pose a challenge because we live a lifestyle that others sometimes see as strange or unusual.
But this shouldn't discourage us. Remember that people can't help but notice when you really, truly believe in something. They can also tell whether you're unwillingly submitting to something or whether it's truly what you stand for. If they see your confidence - if they see that you aren't afraid to stand up and go against the dictates of society, they will be forced to respect and admire you. It really is the difference that makes God's way truly attractive.
