He Chose Me Print E-mail

As a young girl I never felt like I quite fit in with my peers. I was reserved and awkward and of such a sensitive nature that I was easily targeted as the brunt of jokes and jesting. Consequently my self confidence steadily waned to a degree that it was as if the word “FAILURE” were stamped across my forehead.

When it came to be picked for a team I was always a left over. The popular kids snubbed me, the teachers overlooked me, and my parents were too busy for me. I felt invisible, unloved, unwanted- less than nothing. This feeling of worthlessness followed me into my young adult life and I desperately sought unhealthy ways in sin to fill the aching void of my empty, unloved and unwanted heart.

One day I met a young couple who were different than others. They were happy and carefree. They didn’t use the vices of sin that everyone else seemed to cling to. They claimed to be “Born again Christians.” I looked for an opportunity to be alone with them and when one came I asked them about God and through this man I heard the voice of the Lord Jesus Christ speak directly to me – my name, and tell me that He loved me and wanted to come live in my heart.

How can one ever describe how I felt? JESUS LOVED ME??? LOVED ME??? Wanted to LIVE in MY heart??? It was like giving a steak to a starving man. All that night I hardly slept. I kept begging and begging Jesus to “please come and live in my heart.”

Although at that time I did not understand that I needed to repent of all my sins and forsake all sin, a profound change was made in me. Conviction took hold of my life and I began to search hungrily for God’s will and way.

It took a few years before I found the truth and was set completely free from sin. But when I heard the message that Jesus came to set us completely free I was so elated. A dark veil lifted from within and the brightest happiest light flooded my soul. I remember being outside and it was as if the trees were clapping their hands and all of nature was rejoicing with me and praising God.

JESUS CHRIST CHOSE ME!
The King of all kings- the creator of the universe, came to me and PICKED me. He said, “I LOVE YOU! I want YOU to be MINE!”
No one had ever wanted ME. That was very good news to a rejected and dejected human being.

“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit…”
John 15:16

And now, dear reader, I have been ordained to give to you the same message that was given to me in behalf of the LORD JESUS CHRIST;  He LOVES YOU! He WANTS YOU!

Will you not say yes to His call and come to and be His?

“I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst… All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” John 6: 35, 37
