When I first became saved in November of 1998, I was in desperate need of Gods help.
My Mother, Brother and 2 Sisters were all saved and my Dad and I were not. I new that the lives of my family that were following Jesus' teachings were blessed. Contrarily my life was reflecting the sinful nature of the devil and the mess I had made of it. I cried out to God one night in desperation, knowing that it was the only thing left to do to salvage a respectable life. Through faith I prayed and read my bible, sleeping with it in my arms at night. I read from the beginning to the end that year.
One thing that really hit me was in the book of Mark, Chapter 10, versus 46 through 52. Jesus had a large following at this time in his life. As he was leaving Jericho one day he had a great number of people following him. A blind man. Bartimaeus, was sitting along side the road where Jesus passed and began to holler for Jesus, I could just imagine the crowd the dusty road the noise and the excitement at the time. This poor man crying out for mercy, to be able to see. What a real vivid picture of what Jesus went through. I know this really happened. Of course Jesus touched the mans eyes and he could see which is the real miracle. What really impresses me about this story is the fact that it describes a scene that I can see and taste and smell. Every day of my life is touched by His hand thank the Lord.
